How come the UE Red Warriors lost to DLSU Green Archers having a twice to beat advantage?

Should the Ateneo Blue Eagles done it to the finals, it could’ve been the improved “ONE BIG FIGHT!”?

They didn’t have any twice to beat advantage… It’s a best of three finals. I think making it straight to the Finals did no good to them (talking about UE)…. They lost fire. Really, unlike La Salle who encountered many battles before getting to the finals, it brought them (La Salle) more focus since they beat many teams they longed for ultimate price and the trophy more. UE was caught off-guard since they were laid-off the enthisiasm lessened and of course beating all the teams in the eliminations kind of stuck to their heads… They felt that they were unbeatable which in turn made them vulnerable on the series.

I am guessing your an Atenean (the bad blood between your school and La Salle’s makes every game between you a classic!)… but just give it to La Salle they’ve worked their butts off to achieve what they have achieved.

I just like to say Kudos to the UAAP for another great season.

DLSU knows how to win during crunch time. Plus they have more experienced players. Coming from a one year suspension, they also wanted to prove something.

UE was so dominant during the regular season that I believe the players got pressured to win it all but they were unable to deliver when it counted. Add to the fact that they did not have any semifinal games and the long slack time contributed to them losing their fire.

DLSU also played more relaxed as not a lot of people expected them to win. in the end, it just happened that UE chocked during the crucial stretch resulting to a huge amount of turnovers thus costing them both games and the finals.
